How to delete

1. Open the App.
2. Open "Settings" from the home screen.
3. Under "About", tap "Delete all saved data".
4. Tap once more to confirm, and the deletion is carried out.

Deletion cannot be undone. Match records, move lists, skill estimates, and achievements cannot be recovered, so save any move lists you need before deleting.

What is deleted

The App stores game data on your device (in localStorage). The deletion action removes every item the App has stored.

Match records and move lists

Results, end-of-game details (number of moves, material left on the board, final position), and move records of your games

Skill estimate

Your estimated rating and the game history it is based on

Achievements

Unlocked achievements and progress

Settings

Theme, board texture, sound effects, haptics, and other settings

Profile

Your display name and avatar selection

AI reviews and "The AI's thoughts"

Saved AI reviews and the hints from "The AI's thoughts" received during games

Crash records

Records of crashes kept only on your device

Authentication session

Session information for your anonymous account

Your anonymous account is linked to you only through the session stored on this device. Deleting the session removes your means of claiming the account, so the deletion action also amounts to abandoning the account.

About data stored on the server

If you have taken part in online matches, your match records, rating, and leaderboard position are stored on our server. Even if you have not played online, purchasing or restoring the paid plan creates an anonymous account, and its identifier, automatically assigned display name, and subscription status are stored on the server. In addition, if you have used the AI features, an identifier used for rate-limit counting is recorded on the server (see Section 4 of the Privacy Policy for details).

If you have done none of these, no data is stored on the server. Note, however, that "The AI's thoughts" is on by default, so a rate-limit record is created as soon as you play a game against the AI (you can turn this off in the settings; the record is deleted after a set period). Records, results, and settings for games against the AI are all kept on your device and are completely removed by the action described above.

When we receive a deletion request, match records stored on the server are converted into a form that cannot identify you, in order to keep them consistent with your opponents' records (the game result remains for your opponent). Identifiers recorded for rate limiting are deleted in order of the expiry time assigned to each record when it was created.

If you uninstall the App

Uninstalling the App also removes the data stored on your device. Depending on your device or operating system settings, however, some data may remain, so if you want to be certain it is gone, perform the in-app deletion before uninstalling.
